Coordination

The coordination of the SPP 2520 Infrastructure Priority Program “Research Vessels” is based at Heidelberg University and located within the Institute of Earth Sciences. As the central organizational unit, the Coordination Office serves as the main point of contact for all program-related matters and ensures the smooth planning, implementation, and development of activities.

The office is led by the Program Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Oliver Friedrich, who is responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the program in cooperation with the program committee members Prof. Dr. Nicole Aberle-Malzahn, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Arndt, Prof. Dr. Christan Berndt, and Prof. Dr. Saskia Brix. Supporting this role is the Assistant Coordinator, Dr. Jasmin Groß, who contributes to the day-to-day organization, communication, and administration.

The Coordination Office provides guidance and support to all scientists interested in the program, facilitates internal and external communication, and oversees key processes and events. It also manages outreach and dissemination activities to ensure visibility and engagement.
